Monbulk’s Tuesday Division 2 side had an excellent win against Warburton by 31 shots – 79 to 48.
Peter Koomen’s rink achieved the ultimate when they had an eight-shot score on one end, which is rarely heard of and is similar to a hat-trick in cricket.
The other players in this rink were Les Bigelow, Doreen Edwards and Max Cobb.
This rink won 38 to 10, Eric Markham’s rink won 23 to 14 and Jenny Holmes went down 18 to 24.
The Division 3 side played a strong Mulgrave away from home and lost 45 to 76.
Ted Tratt lost 16 to 25, Eric Furby went down by 19 shots and Peter Donders lost narrowly 17 to 20.
The Division 4 side also travelled to Mulgrave and went down 50 to 61.
Peter Francis won by 1 shot 19 to 18. Ray Pike lost by the same one shot margin 19 to 20 and Lorraine McLaren went down 12 to 23.
The Saturday Division 2 Monbulk 1 team had a good win at home against Heathmont with two rinks up 80 to 70.
Eric Markham won by 17 shots 24 to 7.
Brian Smith won 25 to 16 while Andrew Bell went down by 3 shots and Richard Cookson lost by 13 shots.
Monbulk 2 had a huge win against Ringwood by 73 shots.
Lorraine McLaren won by 17 shots and Peter Francis won by 15 shots.
The blow-out of the day was on Eric Furby’s rink where they won by 41 shots 44 to 3. This means this team is top of the ladder in this section.
