Appeal for witnesses

By Derek Schlennstedt

Lilydale detectives are still appealing for witnesses who may have seen an incident between two vehicles on Monbulk-Emerald road on Monday 23 October about 1.20pm, which resulted in a woman being flown to hospital.
Yarra Ranges Crime Investigation Unit’s Detective Senior Constable Danielle Fleming said police were investigating an altercation between a Toyota Prado towing a horse float and a grey ASX Mitsubishi SUV.
Police report that the incident commenced on Belgrave-Gembrook Road and continued through Emerald, and then along Emerald-Monbulk Road concluding around Stewart Road.
She said a woman was then struck by one of the cars, though it is unclear how she came to be hit.
The woman was flown to The Alfred hospital in a serious condition with suspected fractures, abrasions and bruising, and is now in a stable condition and recovering from her injuries.
Both drivers are co-operating with police and assisting with the investigation.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Senior Constable Danielle Fleming at Yarra Ranges CIU on 9739 2300.
