In its 90th year of service, Olinda Fire Brigade is helping hills communities to be prepared for the upcoming fire season.
On Sunday 26 November, the station will open its doors to the public from 10am to 3pm.
Community members are welcome to drop in and take a look, while learning more about fire planning and how best to prepare themselves and their properties.
With local knowledge, and an opportunity to talk directly with fire brigade members, this represents an opportunity not to be missed.
Meanwhile, there will be lots of fun on the day, too, with lots of water to squirt and fun activities for the kids.
As always, there is the obligatory sausage sizzle, icy poles available and a chance to see the work of local volunteers.
Also, there will be firefighting demonstrations and the chance to explore the brigade’s trucks.
