Animal Aid is welcoming dog lovers and their canine pals to take part in ‘Adventure Dog, a Cross Country Challenge’, which will help raise funds to care for the animals at Animal Aid.
On Sunday 27 May, at the picturesque Wandin Park Equestrian Centre, participants will be mentally and physically challenged by 25 obstacles spread over almost 4km.
A dog’s dream come true, the event is perfect for those particular pups which love getting out and about, leaping and bounding, and wading through water and muddy meadows.
Mark Menze, Animal Aid chief executive officer, said the event would be reminiscent of the popular Tough Mudder, “but ruffer”.
“Picture Tough Mudder with your dog,” Mr Menze said..
“You will venture over the hills, under the logs, through the mud, you will enter the bush and into the water.”
Friends and family are welcome to come along on the day to give their support.
There will be plenty of activities to keep them busy once they’ve you hit the course.
You can also involve your family and enter a team, which is a maximum of four people and a minimum of one dog per team.
After completing the challenge, you and your four-legged friend can refuel the tank, with plenty of food and drink on offer in the event village.
Participants must register via our Go Fundraise page before 13 May.
Human entrants must be aged 16 or over (consent form signed by legal guardian for those under 18).
Dog entrants must be aged one year or over on event day.
All the money raised goes to Animal Aid, with individuals who raise enough money and reach their goal receiving a prize.
“Those who accept the challenge and reach their fundraising goal, will join the ranks of our fundraising heroes and will receive a specially commissioned Adventure Dog – A Cross Country Challenge tee!” Mr Menze said.
