Knox junior teams qualify for Victorian Championship

Six Knox junior basketball teams have qualified for the Victorian Championship for the 2022 top division.

From 1202 teams registered in the 2021/22 VJBL competition, the top 160 teams have qualified for the Victorian Championship. 20 teams in each age group and gender qualified, with the competition set to start on 11 March.

VJBL Manager Adrian Campbell said despite 2020 and 2021 being a difficult two years for the VJBL, the associations have picked up where they left off.

“It’s been an impressive season already and there’s a lot of excitement around 2022 VC teams. Our VJBL associations have shone to produce some brilliant basketball in qualifying for the VC competition,” Campbell said.

“Whether they’re competing for VC titles or showing their skills in the VJL divisions, we’d like to wish all the VJBL teams the best of luck for the season ahead.”

the under-14s, 16s and 18s boys, and the under-12s, 14s and 16s girls from Knox qualified for the Victorian Championship in their age group.

The 2021/2022 VJBL season will conclude on 16 September, with the Victorian Championship Grand Final night following the end of the season.

Teams competing in the Victorian Championship can qualify for further elite tournaments such as the Kumon Classic and the Australian under-14 Club Championships.
