On Saturday Monbulk 3 played in the semi-final against Yarra Junction away from home with the winner to take on Cockatoo in the final.
Mike Harris’ rink started well and at the half way mark led by 5 shots. They then lost the next two ends to lead by just 2 shots, but rallied winning the next 2 ends and with 3 ends to play led by 6 shots. However, they lost the last 3 ends with the game ending in a tie, 12 shots all.
Alan Brooke’s rink was all square after 5 ends, then with Pat Ray (leading) and Mike Dowling (second) really beginning to bowl well they won 8 of the last 10 ends to win by 16 shots, 21 to 5 and gain a place in the final.
