Teams playing in the Ferntree Gully & District Cricket Association — both senior and junior — will have their matches postponed until Saturday 12 November and Friday 11 November respectively after a series of cancelled weekend competitions due to heavy rains and water-logged ovals.

In a Facebook post on Friday 28 October, the Ferntree Gully & District Cricket Association said the decision to postpone the matches came after a senior and junior match committee meeting on Wednesday 26 October and a president’s meeting on Thursday 27 October.

In the meeting it was decided division one and division two results from round two will stand and teams will play a 14 game season, with another 13 games left.

The Under 16 teams will play a 13 round season, with Under 14 and Under 12 results from Friday 21 October still stand standing.

The Under 14 and Under 12 teams will play a 14 game season, with 13 games left.

The Super 7 and Fast 9 teams will be pushed back one week.

Two reserve days of 27 November and 5 February have been retained for the top four grades should the Ferntree Gully & District Association lose any further games.

“We will now star the process of updating the draws in My Cricket and will advise when they have been published,” the Facebook post on the the Ferntree Gully & District Association Facebook page read.

“We are obviously hoping that over the next 2 weeks the weather will be kinder to us and the 30 grounds we need each week to play cricket will come up to scratch.”

Teams in the Ferntree Gully & District Cricket Association include Belgrave Cricket Club, Upwey-Tecoma Cricket Club, Monbulk Cricket Club, Olinda Cricket Club, Ferntree Gully Cricket Club and Emerald Cricket Club.
