Learn how to play

THIS year at Cockatoo Children’s Centre, staff have focused on providing a fun learning environment through play.
All rooms run the Program Flow style of learning that meets each individual child’s needs and interests, providing enjoyable developmental opportunities for all children in care.
The government funded preschool program began last week with kindergarten teacher Ranee and her assistant, Pauline.
Together they make a great team and provide a high quality program which prepares children for their first year at school.
In January the centre received its accreditation certificate from the National Childcare Accreditation Council.
Staff and families are very proud of the way in which they achieved such a high rating in all areas of accreditation, proving their service to be of a high quality standard of care.
“The children gain great satisfaction from our fantastic outdoor area which helps to foster environmental awareness by encouraging children to explore and become involved in gardening activities such as growing vegetables, discovering various textured plants and insects,” they said.
“Later this year we aim to become involved in the Cockatoo Township Community Garden.”
