A 25-YEAR-OLD Richmond woman has been charged over the stabbing of a 69-year-old grandmother in Boronia.
Laura Burgess appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 4 March charged with armed robbery and assault following an incident at Boronia Village Shopping Centre that left the elderly Ferntree Gully woman with knife wounds.
Knox CIU Detective Acting Sergeant Glenn Keyte said Burgess was a former resident of the area.
He said she was arrested by uniform police in Richmond on Monday night, 3 March.
Burgess was remanded and ordered to face the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court for a committal mention hearing on 27 May.
