Play space beyond design

By KATHRYN BERMINGHAM

TENDER for the construction of the Kalorama play space is expected to be called in May, with the project currently in the ‘detailed design’ phase.
The concept of the space was the result of consultations with both the Kalorama community and students at Mount Dandenong Primary School.
More than 70 residents attended a community meeting last year to discuss the play space and improvements that need to be made to Kalorama Reserve, the site of the project.
Yarra Ranges Council also asked students to provide ideas for what they would like to see in the new area.
The play space was listed in the confidential section of Yarra Ranges Council’s 10 March agenda.
