Teen charged with Montrose fires

Police charged a 16-year-old boy over a series of fires in a Montrose public garden.

Yarra Ranges CIU detectives allege the Kalorama boy lit six fires at The People’s Garden, which adjoins the lower car park of the Montrose IGA supermarket.

They also charged him with criminal damage by fire over a house fire in Camberwell.

He was bailed to appear at a Children’s Court on 20 March.
