Gembrook crash fatal

A man has died following a fatal crash in Gembrook on Wednesday 27 May.

Police investigators believe the man was travelling along Bessie Creek Road before the vehicle veered off and crashed down an embankment just after 4.30am.

Emergency services arrived to discover the vehicle on its roof and on fire.

The driver, who was on his own, died at the scene.

Detailed circumstances surrounding the incident are still being investigated.

Bessie Creek Road, Gembrook will be closed to traffic in both directions between Dore Road and Gembrook Road for some time while Cardinia and Casey Highway Patrol officers process the scene.

Motorists should use Gembrook Road, Pakenham Road, Army Road and the Princes Highway to avoid the closure. The detour will add significant time to the journey.

This closure is under Victoria Police control and will re-open when investigations are complete and it’s safe to do so.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
