Give blood and save a life

Throughout the pandemic, donating blood has been a worthwhile reason to get out of the house as each drop goes towards saving lives – and now, it’s even easier for Pakenham residents to donate.

The team from Australian Red Cross Lifeblood are back in the Cardinia Shire once again, and have set up their mobile blood donor centre in Pakenham.

Residents are being encouraged to roll up their sleeves and give blood if they can, as this vital service is always in need of new donations.

Located at the Pakenham Library Community Hall on the corner of John Street and Henry Street, the mobile van is currently in operation and will be there until Friday 8 October.

The van will be open each weekday until Friday, being open most days from 12pm (midday) until 7.15pm, except Friday 8 October, when they will be open from 8am until 3pm.

At this stage, there are still 80 times available for residents to book in and donate, and due to Covid restrictions, bookings are essential.

With one in three Australians needing a blood or blood product in their lifetimes, each donation is vital and will go a long way.

To book in a time, visit lifeblood.com.au – alternatively you can download the free Donate Blood App, or call Lifeblood on 13 14 95.
