CFA respond to grassfire

Seven CFA vehicles responded to a grassfire which burned for over 45 minutes in Silvan on 11 January.

CFA said they were notified at 1.13pm to reports of a column of smoke, before responding crews found a grass and scrub fire spreading near the edge of the dam.

The fire – which was roughly 80m by 50m – was declared under control by 2pm.

A alert was issued for smoke in the area.
