Woolworths in Emerald limits opening hours

Woolworths in Emerald in Emerald will be shut early on Wednesday 24 August and opens late on Thursday 25 August.

Emerald Woolworths will shut its doors to customers at 8pm on Wednesday 24 August and reopen at 10am on Thursday 25 August while the store’s front-end is refurbished.

This is part of a three-month long renovation which involves the expansion of the deli and 12 new self-serve checkout machines.

Front end team member at Emerald Woolworths, Helen Hovarth, said the store has only had close for five hours throughout the renovations.

“We don’t want to have any disruptions for the community, because a lot of people rely on being able to come in at nine o’clock at night because everyone works different hours these days; so we’ve tried to make that impact as minimal as possible,” Helen said.

“When when it comes to the front end, that’s a big deal because that’s busy on and off all the time. So we have to make sure that all of that as much as can be done is done through the night.”

The renovations are expected to be completed by the end of September, with digital price tags on products and a dedicated working space for staff picking online orders.
