Day light savings hours come into effect

The time of year when clocks will be set forward an hour giving us all some extra afternoon light.

From Sunday 2 October at 2am, clocks will shift forward one hour to cater for daylight saving time.

While the whole country doesn’t observe daylight saving time, Victoria, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania and South Australia will change their clocks this Sunday.

Daylight saving time will end on the first Sunday of April next year, making it 2 April.
