CFA crews continue to fight fire in Wantirna South

CFA crews from as far as Olinda responded to a huge structural fire in Wantirna on Tuesday 17 January, with emergency personnel still fighting the blaze at the time of print.

The fire on high street, which started just before 3pm, saw 200 people evacuated and a large amount of smoke visible from the surrounding areas.

Ambulance Victoria said while they were called to the incident, no emergency treatment or transport was required as of 5.27pm, with paramedics remaining on the scene for health monitoring.

Victoria Police, the EPA and WorkSafe were all notified to attend, according to the CFA.
