Playgroup Victoria and Puffing Billy Railway have partnered to create a day of play for children aged 0-5 and their families.
There will be a free Pop-Up Playgroup run at the Lakeside Visitor Centre and opportunities to explore the beautiful railway and surrounds in the magnificent Dandenong Ranges.
Playgroup Victoria CEO Danny Schwarz said that the entire organisation is looking forward to the event.
“We are very excited to be partnering with the iconic railway Puffing Billy Railway for a play day for the whole family.
“Along with a ride on Australia’s most famous steam train, we welcome families to join us for a free Pop-Up Playgroup amongst the natural beauty of the Dandenong ranges,” he said.
Puffing Billy CEO Peter Abbott said Puffing Billy Railway’s partnership with Playgroup Victoria brings a wonderful opportunity for families to come together and enjoy quality time in the breathtaking setting of the Dandenong Ranges.
“We were thrilled to host Playgroup Victoria and their engaging activities, fostering bonds and creating lasting memories for families from near and far,” he said.
This is a big celebration for Playgroup Victoria post the pandemic.
Many children and families missed out on earlier opportunities when children were born during lockdowns and as we emerged from restrictions in Melbourne and Victoria.
In light of that, to be able to gather en masse means a lot for the health and wellbeing of families in the early years.
This year local playgroups have gathered once more and many new playgroups have begun.
Playgroups act as great support networks, allowing people to feel a sense of belonging.
For children, playgroup connections have a positive impact on their development, now and into the future.
Playgroup Victoria and Puffing Billy Railway invite families to come along to the Lakeside Visitor Centre for a day of play and community connection
from 11am on Tuesday the 3rd of October.
