Three… ways to embrace the cold

As chilly conditions start to set in and warm conditions start to become less frequent, it can be easy to simply stay inside next to a fire or a heater. Here are three ways to enjoy the cold outside.

1. Go for a splash

The quickest way to warm up is to get active. Swimming is a low-impact activity which builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness, while helping your lungs and heart stay healthy. You don’t need to do 100 laps of the pool either, even just playing some games or floating in the warm pool can be healthy and therapeutic.

2. Enjoy a night outdoors

What better way to enjoy the cold than to spend a night out camping in the elements! Make sure to pack weather-appropriate clothing, extra blankets and marshmallows to toast by the fire.

3. Go for a hike

There are plenty of local trails throughout the Yarra Ranges suited for people of all fitness levels. Rug up, get on your best hiking boots or shoes and get walking!
