Belgrave roundabout collision

A morning collision has occurred in Belgrave at the central roundabout of the small town along Burwood Highway near Terrys Avenue.

The two vehicle accident happened in the middle of the roundabout just before lunchtime on Monday 14 October and fortunately no one was trapped or transported to hospital.

A media representative from Ambulance Victoria said paramedics were called to the traffic incident in Belgrave about 11.45am.

“A number of people were assessed at the scene but no one was transported to hospital,” they said.

CFA media said two CFA units responded to the reports of a vehicle incident..

“Units responded from Belgrave and Upwey,” they said.

“Crews discovered a two-motor vehicle incident in the middle of a roundabout. No one was trapped.”

Victoria Police were also on scene.

CFA media said relevant power and gas company were called to the scene and EPA were notified of the event.

“The incident was deemed under control at 11.55am and safe at 12.30pm.,” they said.

The site of the old Belgrave Motors site, located at 2-14 Monbulk Road appears to have sustained some damages to some of the brickwork out the front of the derelict building.

Traffic was still experiencing slowdowns along Burwood Highway at the roundabout at 4pm.
