Teen in hospital after altercation in Knox ends in violence

Monday afternoon has seen a major shopping precinct in Knox rocked by what police have described as an ‘affray’, which has left a teenage male in hospital.

In a shock start to the school holidays, a young teen has been allegedly stabbed inside the Westfield Knox along Burwood Highway in Wantirna South on Tuesday, 8 July.

Police have confirmed an investigation is underway after investigating an affray at a shopping centre on Burwood Highway in Wantirna South on 8 July.

“Investigators have been told an altercation took place between a group of males around 5.30pm,” said a Police spokesperson.

“One teenage male sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital,” they said.

All others involved fled the scene before police arrival.

A spokesperson from Ambulance Victoria has confirmed that Ambulance officers were called to an incident in Wantirna South at around 5.30pm yesterday.

“One person has been transported to The Alfred Hospital,” they said.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined at this stage.
