Monday 17 November, has seen a shocking and tragic situation unfold in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges.
Traffic has been closed along Burwood Highway for several hours following the death of a man in Upwey.
Emergency personnel were called to Burwood Highway about 12.40pm.
Sadly, the man was found deceased at the scene and is yet to be formally identified, and the Police will now prepare a report for the Coroner.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious,” said a Police media spokesperson.
With a cold and wet day creating extra challenges for driving conditions, traffic in both directions from Upper Ferntree Gully to Burwood Highway, Morris Road Upwey has been closed since the early afternoon, as local emergency services assembled.
As of 4.40pm, Vic Roads has still advised that the area is closed.
