All on board for gem of an event

THE unique nature of Gembrook Market has resulted in the monthly event becoming a major attraction in the area, according to its organisers.
Stallholders from far and wide are asking to attend the market, many giving up their regular market bookings in favour of coming to Gembrook, says market committee chairman John Cascone.
“We are offering a market that is different to many others because of our focus on promoting sustainable living. Stallholders appreciate this because they are proud of what they make and sell.
“And visitors can be assured that they are buying produce that is Australian-grown and often organically produced, or unusual crafts and other items which are sold by the craftsperson or artisan who has made them.”
The market’s setting at Puffing Billy Station also ensures visitors enjoy a unique experience with Puffing Billy steaming into the marketplace carrying travellers on its special market day train.
“Market-goers and stallholders alike are telling us that Gembrook Market is the place to be on the fourth Sunday of the month between 9am — 3pm, and we welcome visitors to the market and our beautiful rural town, which is only a short drive from the suburbs,” said Mr Cascone.
