Don’t stall, head down for bargains

DANDENONG Market has been operating since 1866 and is famous for its great bargains.
With more than 300 stalls, market shoppers will find good deals everywhere.
The market has 17 fresh fruit and vegetable stallholders, two fish mongers, a halal butcher, a poultry shop and a deli.
Marketgoers will also find a cheese stall, nuts and dried fruit, confectionary and dry grocery goods as well as a great range of stalls selling fabrics, prints, cards, toys, shoes, clothes, socks, jewellery, watches, sunglasses, plants, flowers and much, much more.
Those looking for a quick snack while they are browsing up the aisles of the market can try Dutch pancakes, burek, kebabs, kransky sausages, Mauritian, Vietnamese, Chinese, a Spanish or Dandee doughnut.
“There’s plenty to please even the fussiest eaters,” said market management.
“We also offer services including a hairdresser, key cutting and engraving and two ATMs. The Dandenong Market even has a Tattslotto agency.”
With more than 900 parking spaces, including under cover parking and bargains everywhere, Dandenong Market offers something for everyone.
Dandenong Market is open every Tuesday from 7am to 4pm, Friday 7am to 5pm (general merchandise 4pm) and Saturday 7am to 3pm. The market is on Good Friday, 6 April.
