MONBULK Aquatic Club plunged head first into the Metro East District Swimming Championships recently and brought home 35 medals.
A team of 30 swimmers aged between 7 and 16, plus a couple of parents took part in the championships.
They went head to head with 11 other clubs from across the district in relays and sprint events such as backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke and freestyle.
Team coach Jeffery Calder was pleased with the results and said the medal tally showed that the training the team was putting in was reaping rewards.
Five swimmers including Caitlin Latto, Hilary Duff, Leigh Yelland, Lachlan Mitchell and Emily FitzGerald were also selected to be part of the team to travel to Canberra in June to represent the Metro East District.
