THE annual challenge of the three-club event took place at Emerald Golf Club last Saturday as club selections were many and varied but the results were the same. The course rating was set at 68.
Greg Horrocks fashioned a 40-point game off his 13 handicap using his 5 wood, 7 iron and putter to claim the over-all belt and the A Grade crown as well.
Dennis Fuller, who was inspired by the efforts of Horrocks, when he scored 38 points while playing off 16, won B Grade.
Young Andrew Mackie has made a large dent in his handicap this week when, on Thursday competition, he managed 37 points from his 26.
By Saturday he was playing off 22 and still managed 36 points to clean up the rest of C Grade.
Of the others, the best scorers were, Martin Yeats with 35, Leigh Morison 34, while Ross Martin, Mango Maguire and Mike Litchfield all scored 33.
Nearest the pins were won by Ross Martin on the 12th, Peter Coniglione the 13th, Mango Maguire the 17th and Bob Moulday scooped the pool for the pro pin on the 18th.
Next Saturday sees another Monthly Medal up for grabs with golfers once again loading up their bags with the allowed 14 clubs.
