FOR an absolutely stunning look in both hair and beauty, Hills residents need go no further than Tecoma.
“MJ’s Total Hair and Body Care Studio offers the choice of very current hair fashion and colour, combined with facials, waxing, massage, body scrub and exfoliation – all your hair and beauty needs serviced,” said manager Michael Hardware.
Michael started his career with Edward Beal, moved across to John Morrey and then managed a busy salon in Berwick for five years before moving to the Tecoma salon.
“All the salons I have been involved with have been creative and high achievers and we have all won our share of awards along the way,” he said.
“The products at MJ’s Hair Studio are everevolving as trends change. So too the need to follow fashion.
“We are currently using Indola colours and the Fudge retail range to complement the funky men’s styles and all facets of foiling and perming.
“I am very happy working with my staff. It’s not about individuals in a business, it’s about teamwork, communication, creativity and having fun,” Michael said.
“There’s something nice about being greeted when you arrive and it’s the little things that matter.
“A special mention and thank you to my staff Jennifer Carey, Kerrie Beall, Tara Delbridge – all great qualified hairdressers – and to beauty therapist Fran Bucci.
Fran said the staff at MJ’s worked effectively as a team.
“(We) create an ambience where clients can look good, feel good and experience the ultimate in stress relief with our quality pamper packages which incorporate both hair and beauty treatments,” she said.
Fran worked at Berwick Amcal Pharmacy for almost four years before starting her own business at MJ’s in May.
“Having worked in various professions over the years, I have gained extensive experience in both life and work and this has contributed very effectively towards my work as a therapist,” she said.
While successfully completing the Elly Lukas and CIDESCO International Beauty Therapy Diplomas, Fran won the 2001 Elly Lukas Science Award and qualified for the CIDESCO Travel Scholarship, which involved travelling to London for two weeks in April 2002 to attend the CIDESCO International Beauty Therapy Conference and Expo.
She has also successfully completed the retail product and professional facial treatments training for Gatineau skin care products.
Gatineau products from Paris are exclusive to beauty salons and are used and sold at MJ’s.
Beauty treatments offered include a selection of manicures, pedicures, facial treatments and body treatments as well as Swedish massage, facial and body waxing and eyelash and eyebrow tinting, with combination packages and gift vouchers available.
MJ’s Total Hair and Body Care Studio is at 1547 Burwood Highway, Tecoma.
