BORONIA police have charged two teenagers in relation to a high speed pursuit on Monday morning.
At about 1.30am police attempted to inform a white Ford Laser travelling along Scoresby Road, Bayswater, that its headlights were off. Boronia police Senior Sergeant Steve Rosethorn said the Laser accelerated and began driving aggressively and erratically.
Sen Sgt Rosethorn said police began a pursuit, which reached speeds of up to 140 kph and was called off at the corner of the Burwood Highway and Mount Dandenong Tourist Road.
At about 1.50am the vehicle was sighted heading west along the Burwood Highway, and found dumped near Dorset Road, Ferntree Gully. Police, along with the Dog Squad, were called in to find the driver and passenger.
Police have charged two teenagers aged 15 and 17 with theft of a motor car, conduct endangering serious injury, manner dangerous and other traffic offences. One of the teenagers will appear before Ringwood Children’s Court this week while the other has been bailed to appear at the Ringwood Children’s Court on 23 November.
Station stabbing
KNOX police are investigating a possible stabbing at Ferntree Gully train station on Saturday.
Senior Sergeant John Hess said seven youths were on the city side rail platform about 10pm when one youth spoke to a passing female. Sen Sgt Hess said three other males approached the group and picked a fight, and one of the males producing a knife. One of the seven youths received a shoulder wound and another a finger wound, with both requiring minor medical attention.
The matter is being investigated by Knox CIU with police expecting to make an early arrest.
