Young Tigers face a fight

UPWEY-TECOMA’S Under 17/1 XI face a stern test to keep their unbeaten run intact when the Ferntree Gully and District Cricket Association’s round four resumes next Saturday.
Despite the best efforts of Ben Wood (37), the Tigers failed to take advantage of most batsmen getting a start and posted a total of 154 for The Basin to chase this weekend.
Jayden Brown (4/30) and Mitch Cram (2/21) led the U15/1 bowling attack that restricted Bayswater to 197 at The Dome.
The U15/2A XI returned to Eildon Park for the second consecutive match but this time to face the Wildcats’ strong batting line up.
James Lester (2/30) and Taylor Jones helped restrict the home side to 6/219 from their 50 overs on a fast outfield.
It was always going to a tough day for U15/2B team with the bare minimum seven players taking the field against Eildon Park.
Stephen Torsello (19) and Uriah Gray (16) stood out in the team’s total of 84 from 32 overs. Eildon Park has taken first innings points finishing the day on 1/119.
Brandon Clarke (41 n.o.) continued his outstanding form in the U13/1s total of 6/186 against Lysterfield at Thompson’s Reserve.
