Top efforts rewarded

TWO Mount Evelyn cricketers received top honours following the Yarra Valley Cricket Association’s annual awards night.
Young gun Daniel Giblin was awarded the Keith Thompson Medal for YVCA Junior Cricketer of the Year, the most prestigious award, for his performance as part of the under-16 team.
Seniors captain and YVCA superstar Kane Jones capped off his season by receiving his third THR Drummond Medal for Cricketer of the Year in the D.J. Strachan Shield.
Mount Evelyn Cricket Club junior co-ordinator Chris Anderson said despite both teams losing at the grand finals, the efforts of both players shone through and the awards were very much deserved.
