A MCDONALD’S protester was removed from the roof of a building at the site of the proposed restaurant in Tecoma earlier this morning.
About 50 police moved in about 4am and removed the sole protestor using a cherry picker.
The move enabled builders to access the site with construction machinery.
The 20-year-old Upwey woman had been up on the roof for about a week.
She has been charged with wilful trespass and was bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
Police have also pushed the remaining protesters from behind the site to the outside footpath surrounding the building, and on the opposite side of the road.
Acting Superintendent Paul Rosenblum said the safety of the protestors and those working on the site was the primary concern for police.
