School marks golden milestone

Kyle, Maisie and Jacob are proud of their school.

CELEBRATIONS, reflections and reminiscing will be part of the school year at Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School Bayswater as it commemorates its 50th anniversary.
Opened in 1965, accommodating children from Prep to Year 6, Our Lady of Lourdes’ grew to over 430 students by 1977.
For 26 years (1973-1989), the Salesian Sisters were to lead the school through a time of population growth in the Bayswater area.
With the school’s expansion came many new buildings and the support of parents was indeed obvious.
A strong community spirit developed at the school with families becoming involved in sports days, working bees, fetes and many fund-raising and social events.
In 2015, while much smaller in size, the school continues to provide a warm community-focused school with an inclusive and vibrant learning environment for its students.
The school boasts diverse cultures that are respected and celebrated.
Our Lady of Lourdes is a school where Catholic faith and traditions are woven through every aspect of its work.
The school looks forward to the celebrations in its Jubilee year and is ready to take on the joys and challenges of educating children in the Bayswater area for many years to come.
