Suns shine on big stage

FOUR of nine junior teams from the Sherbrooke Suns Basketball Club featured in grand finals on Sunday, 13 September.
From this representation, 14/2 girls and 16/3 girls were triumphant in their finals.
Meanwhile, the 18/1 boys and 16/1 girls both fell despairingly short of victory, the boys losing by two points and the girls falling three points short.
Congratulations to Rachael (14/2 girls coach) and Gary (16/3 girls coach) on going all the way.
Commiserations to Greg and Bronwyn (16/1 girls coaches) and Rick (18/1 boys coach) on a great season that almost got the ultimate reward.
Congratulations to all the Representative teams and coaches on their efforts for the season.
18 Boys Grand Final results:
Sherbrooke 18/1 Boys lost to Chelsea by two points in a very exciting game.
In the last quarter, the Suns were down 14 points and with 5.14 minutes to go, the Suns came back with power and spirit.
Even though they came home with a silver medal, they need to be proud of their achievements.
The Rick Leknius-coached team comprised Blake Bloore, Daniel Cleary, Xavier Csuka-Knight, Jack Grech, Jake Holdsworth, Matthew Hull, Liam Knoppien, Adam Marshall and Kyle Staff.
