Hawks bundle out premiers for 160

Junior players Dylan and Josh padded up and are ready to go into battle.

ROUND 2 at the Monbulk Cricket Club saw all four senior teams start their first two-day match while the four competitive junior teams all played another one-dayer.
The 1st XI bowled out last year’s premiers, Johnson Park, for 160 with Aaron Powell and Chris Coen taking three wickets apiece.
The Hawks are 2/50 in reply with skipper Shane Cosstick looking good at the crease.
The mighty MCG (Monbulk Cricket Ground) was also looking good for the ones’ clash.
The 2nd XI batted all day for 210, with Craig Broekhof top scoring with 50.
The 3rd and 4th XIs are both in tight battles in their split innings matches.

U16- Monbulk 7/117 (Aussie Richardson 28, Thomas Badgery 25) lost to Mazenod 6/130 (T.J. Utting 2/21). U14- Monbulk 3/91 (Dylan Goldberg 26no, Josh Spencer 25no – picture attached) v FTG 5/81 (Toby Hepworth 2/5) – match abandoned due to bad light. U12- Monbulk Gold 3/57 d Johhson Park 6/39 (Tom Donald 2/1, Declan Howie 2/5, Connor Schied 2/8). U12- Eildon Park Pumas 2/89 d Monbulk Maroon 7/59 (Fletcher Russell 14, Tim Roe 13).
This Saturday, 24 October, is the club’s second meal night for the season.
Dinner will be served about 7pm, which will be followed by match reports and awards.
All members of the club and their families are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The following Saturday, 31 October, is an exciting day for the club.
They are hosting a Twenty20 double header v Belgrave (2nds start at 12.30pm followed by the 1sts at 3.45).
The 3rds, 4ths and all junior teams have no matches this weekend due to cup weekend.
The club is also hosting their business network lunch during the day, which will be followed by their first function, the club cocktail party starting at 7pm with Mark Fenby playing his acoustic tracks.
