Scene set for big challenges

Experimental artists will explore personal and political themes.

A ‘SECRET’ location in Monbulk will soon be transformed into “a vessel for traversing conceptual terrain”.
Featuring 30 experimental artists, who will each navigate personal and political themes, the pop-up festival, hillsceneLIVE: navigating personal territories, dares to think outside the box.
The aim of the festival is to support artists who like a challenge and delve into “big questions” through their work.
Festival director Gareth Hart said the event encouraged artists to challenge themselves.
“This is the fourth hillsceneLIVE festival and is by far the bravest and boldest to date,” he said.
“The artists in this year’s festival are of such high calibre, both intellectually and intrinsically, that I cannot wait to share this festival with you all.
“There are some really complex and important questions being asked by the programmed artists that I feel this festival has a real cultural importance, right now.”
The Monbulk location will be revealed after booking.
HillsceneLive: navigating personal territories will be held on Friday 30 October, between 4pm and 11pm.
Tickets cost $20.
