Thinking of checking out something a little different to get into the Christmas spirit this year?
Upwey has been a hive of activity over the past 12 months, with numerous projects completed, including four new restaurants to the town and three big gardens built.
Add to this, a terrific Christmas decoration display is set to bring the main street to life … and you’re all set for a merry festive season indeed.
Much of this work has come through the work of the local Project Upwey and Upwey Township Group, which have worked exceptionally hard in recent times.
Project Upwey president Andrew Peterson said there was plenty to see and do over the Christmas period.
“We have plenty of street activities planned on Saturday mornings in the lead-up to this Christmas,” Mr Peterson said.
“All our retailers and the township groups have worked hard to source some incredible Christmas decorations, which will be put up throughout the main street.
“For locals, or those nearby, it’s worth heading out to see all the work that’s been done. They may hardly recognise the place.”
“We’ve painted 10 shops and installed three big gardens.”
