Setting the mood for Christmas

Time to fire up your best singing voice in Tecoma. 175574

By Peter Douglas

If you enjoy nothing more than singing a few ol’ favourite Christmas carols, then Tecoma is the place to be during this festive season.
Tecoma Uniting Church will be hosting their highly anticipated carol singing on Christmas Eve, from 5pm to 7pm.
Guests can bring along their best singing voice, as well as some family and friends, and enjoy the atmosphere and unity that only carols can deliver.
All are welcome.
Also, Tecoma Primary School has its annual Christmas concert at the school on Tuesday 5 December.
The children have been busy preparing for the event, with their routines and costumes sure to impress all on the big day.
Meanwhile, Christmas in the hills is about to hit the right note, with Knox Christmas Carols at nearby Ferntree Gully sure to deliver something special for this year.
Audiences will this year hear from one of the very best in the business, with Karen Andrews (aka Miss Murphy, a finalist in hit TV show, The Voice) set to deliver some Christmas cheer.
Miss Murphy will headline a huge variety of entertainment for the night on Saturday 2 December, from 4pm to 10pm (main show from 8pm), at the Wally Tew Reserve (Brenock Park Drive, Ferntree Gully).
The Voice favourite will impress the crowds with her renowned soulful voice, which will lend itself just perfectly to some favourite carols.
Ms Murphy became a household name back in 2013, with her performances inspiring audiences nationally.
The wall-to-wall pre-show entertainment will feature Emotion 21, the now famous Bethany Fisher kids show ‘Kidding Around’, a massive ‘free’ fairground, arts crafts and activities, a line-up of exclusive local singers and dancers and a new Christmas market.
