Election win may see upgrades

Lilydale Football Club will receive $20,000 to go towards an upgrade of its facilities, if the Liberal Government is successful during November’s state election.

The club requires new coach’s and player-interchange boxes, due to inadequate shelter from the elements.

Despite being one of the oldest active football clubs in Australia, and playing in the prestigious Eastern Football League, the club is in need of a facilities upgrade.

Liberal candidate for Evelyn, Bridget Vallence, said the upgrades would be a welcome addition for the club.

“I am delighted that Matthew Guy and his team have made this exciting contribution to such an iconic and active sporting club,” she said.

“If I am elected to represent Evelyn, I’ll ensure our hardworking community groups and sporting clubs get the funding they require.”

Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party, David Hodgett, praised Ms Vallence for her extensive work within the local community and her support of the Lilydale Football Club.
