Focus turns to finals

Monbulk Junior Football Club had its final away game in a season filled with Monbulk Hawks team spirit, grit and determination.

The sides hope to put it all together as they fight their way to the finals flag.

Under-9

The side was up against a very tough Healesville team.

The kids played a tough match but came off the field with their heads held high.

Best: Arley, Jack, Kale, Ava, Hudson.

Under-10

This match was a fantastic finish to a great season.

The group really took it up to a strong Healesville side, fought out every contest, found their players and again created scoring chances.

Best: Wil, Ben, Kelly, Robert, Charlie.

Under-11

Upwey 6.5.41 d Monbulk 3.0.18

It was a close contest for the first three quarters.

The Hawks were unable to hold out and the strong wind didn’t help.

Best: Josh S, Kit, Hamish, Xavier.

Under-12

Healesville 9.3.57 d Monbulk 3.2.20

The team was up against a very good opposition, which got on top of the Hawks in the first half.

Monbulk had to dig deep and came out and evened out the second half.

Best: Oscar, Tim, Jacob, Harry, Abel.

Under-14 Blue

Monbulk 3.6.24 d Healesville 2.4.16

The team focused on this game and not on next week.

The solid four-quarter performance was a good way to enter the finals campaign.

Best: Nick T, Jake M, Nathan S, Logan B.

Under-14 Green

Emerald 14.9.93 d Monbulk 0.0.0

After a spray at quarter time the boys fired up.

They pride themselves on effort, intensity and tackling and all those things shone through.

Best: Harry, Moe, Tommy, Abiah.

Under-16

Monbulk 14.11.95 d Healesville 1.2.8

The side was missing a few players who had a volleyball tournament, so four under-14 players were filling in.

The boys worked hard in wet conditions and played strong footy all day.

Best: Alex G, Gary R, Ben H, Tully F, Campbell D.
