The Sherbrooke Art Society, now in its 52nd year has announced their annual spring exhibition.
The exhibition will run until 26 October and features a vast range of art created by the societies’ members.
President Antoinette Blyth said the exhibition was one of the longest continuous annual art events in the Dandenong Ranges region, and on average, has over 60 artists exhibiting over 130 works of art.
“The spring exhibition is a yearly function for the members of the Sherbrooke Art Society and gives them the opportunity to enter up to three works for this very valuable award,” she said.
“There are a very high percentage of beautiful artists who have been members for many years and some young emerging artists who are submitting using new mediums.”
“Art is progressing in the world and we have such a range of talent in old forms and new mediums.”
Open to Sherbrooke Art Society Members, the exhibition awards prizes for best oil painting, best watercolour painting, best three-dimensional work, and best pastel and acrylic work.
Additionally, the best in show will receive the prestigious Mavis Hill Award.
The exhibition is held at Sherbrooke Art Society located at 62 Monbulk Road, Belgrave and is free entry.
Ms Blyth welcomed people to come and admire the work of local artists.
