Calves stolen from Gembrook farm

Brazen thieves have stolen seven calves out of a paddock in Gembrook in the early hours of Wednesday 5 May.

Emerald Police said that the four month old Jersey cows were taken from a rural property around 5am.

Senior Constable Karly Matthews said there were a total of 10 calves in the paddock, with seven taken by unknown offenders.

A witness claims to have seen the calves inside an insulated cage trailer attached to a white station wagon, Snr Const Matthews said.

“If the public could keep an eye out or if they have any further information, or may have observed the vehicle or noticed new cows at a neighbours property, if this info could come back to me at Emerald Police station that would be great,” she said.

The cows have ear tags, though they possibly could have be removed by the offenders and have faded paint on their coats (numbers between one to 10).

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Emerald Police on 5954 0200.
