There is plenty to get excited about in the Hills and Dandenong Ranges in the new year!
Parks Victoria will be running a volunteer-led walk through the Dandenong Ranges. The 5.5 kilometre walk will occur every Thursday at 9.30am commencing from Grants Picnic Ground. The walk takes you through a rain forest of mountain ash, eucalypts and tree ferns.

Fab Knobs Theatre is running an all ages Alice in Wonderland pantomime-mashup throughout January. The show has a 60 minute running time and children will have opportunities to take photos with the characters after the show. Tickets are $15 dollars and shows run on Friday and Saturday until 16 January.

Enjoy a train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine in Gembrook as Puffing Billy gets a makeover. From 10 January people are invited to the picturesque Gembrook Station to enjoy activities including a 35 minute train ride on Thomas or Diesel, a silent disco, jumping castles, family photos and more.

The Sherbrooke Arts Society and Australian Society of Miniature Arts are running a small packages exhibition until January 15. Society members will exhibit arts works created with a variety of techniques and mediums including oil, acrylic and graphite.

The 1812 Theatre is hosting an eclectic program of local poets and theatre actors performing their own spoken word works. Held at the Lowe Auditorium, grab a drink from the bar and enjoy a night of art and poetry.
