Kallista Community House closed until at June

The Kallista Community House will be closed until at least June because of damage caused by a ceiling collapse in October 2021.

Community House manager Sue Etherington said the building cannot be used because of health and safety concerns.

“We don’t have any more details for now but we’ll keep you posted with updates on our Facebook page,” Ms Etherington said.

“Hopefully our doors will be open again in July.”

She said the Community House will liase with Yarra Ranges Council, who they lease the building from, to organise repairs which are unlikely to be completed until June.

The Community House runs classes, workshops, social group activities, playgroups and also hires rooms in the facilities.

Anyone wishing to contact the Kallista Community House in the meantime should use the contact form at www.kallistacommunityhouse.org.au
