Truck carrying scaffolding flips on Glenfern Road

A collision at midday 8 March on Glernfern Road, Upper Ferntree Gully resulted in a man being taken to hospital via air ambulance.

At 12.44pm a collision occurred when a truck travelling southwest on Glenfern Road overturned and crashed into a power pole near the Lysterfield Road intersection. The truck was carrying scaffolding, which became detached from the flipped vehicle.

Police said the driver was conveyed to the hospital via air ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed for several hours while the scene was investigated by police and scaffolding was cleared from the road.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to contact Senior Constable Taylor at Knox Highway Patrol on 9881 7900 or 9881 7000.
