LED light replacement at Dorset Square completed

LED lights have been installed at Dorset Square car park to improve energy efficiency and lighting for locals and businesses in Boronia.

39 car park lights were replaced on Friday 25 March to improve visibility and provide more uniform and reliable lighting.

Knox Council said the LEDs have lower maintenance costs and a longer lifespan compared to the previous high-pressure sodium lights.

The works were a part of the street light replacement initiative by the council, with the aim to reduce greenhouse emissions to net zero by 2040.

Council plans to replace 500 street lights on main roads with LEDs in the coming months with the support of the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions.
