Firefighters are responding to a grass, scrub or bushfire, reported in Silvan at 2.34pm on Wednesday 13 April.
It’s possible that the fire on Monbulk Road may isn’t yet under control and other emergency service personnel may be assisting on the scene to assist.
Crime Watch Victoria said both drivers and pedestrians should avoid travelling in the area until emergency services have left the scene.
