Cardinia Shire Council’s new exhibition ‘Escaping Reality,’ opened to the public yesterday at Cardinia Cultural Centre in Pakenham.
Free to the public, this exhibition will feature selected paintings by local artist John Krzywokulski that span from 1988 to the present day.
Spanning more than five decades, John’s paintings explore the various qualities of Surrealism and express a unique world view.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Jeff Springfield said he was excited to see arts events back in the community.
“The gallery at Cardinia Cultural Centre can be showcased in many innovative ways including the use of mixed media, digital projection, installations, and as a traditional gallery. We are looking forward to bringing a catalogue of exciting events to the centre in 2022.
“John’s art is incredibly abstract and profound. Members of the community are encouraged to absorb his art and take away their own meaning.
“I would highly recommend making your way to see it. And it’s a great opportunity to catch up with friends or family over a ‘cuppa’ at the Vista café, view the exhibition, and if the weather is good, take a walk around the lake,” said the Mayor.
The exhibition is free to attend and is available for viewing from 10:am to 3:00pm, Tuesday to Sunday, from 17 April to 15 May 2022.
The Vista Cafe is open for dine in and take away services, 9:00am to 3:00pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Bookings are recommended for dine-in service. To reserve your table, please call 5940 8994.
