Yarra Ranges Council helping cover the cost of weed disposal

As the weather cools down, the likelihood of weeds spreading and ingesting gardens throughout the Yarra Ranges increases as they flower and seed. to combat this, Yarra Ranges Council is helping to cover the cost of disposing of weeds, with residents able to apply for a Weed Wipeout tip voucher for eligible weeds.

The Weed Wipeout program’s list of eligible weeds is:

English Ivy

Blue Periwinkle

Montbretia

Agapanthus

Wandering Trad

Japanese Honeysuckle

Wild Tobacco Tree

Arum Lily

Cape Ivy

Banana Passionfruit

Spanish Heath

Red Cestrum

Spear Thistle

The Weed Wipeout program can also be used to dispose of woody weeds. For residents who wish to dispose of woody weeds, only foliage and smaller branches will be accepted. Clean tree branches and limbs can be bundled and put out for bundled branch collection.

Eligible woody weeds include:

Cedar Wattle
