The Dandenong Ranges could see “a flurry of snow” tomorrow morning in areas 500 metres above sea level, such as Mt Dandenong.

A representative from the Bureau of Meteorology said there is a band of rain coming across the state in the next few hours with a cold front behind it.

“We’re expecting snow levels to drop right down, particularly into tomorrow morning,” she said.

“The showers will be few and far between, any showers that do fall above about 500 meters will be full of snow.”

The Mount Dandenong Forecast shows a 95 per cent chance of 3mm to 6mm rainfall, with a very high chance of showers or snow.

The BoM representative said where there are showers, snow will likely fall soon afterwards.

“It’s not going to be a widespread event or anything,” she said.

“We don’t have that much moisture in the air that’s coming.”

Snow last fell on Mt Dandenong in late May.
