A potential phone scam involving a caller posing as a Yarra Ranges Council officer and asking for personal information has forced the council to issue a warning to residents.
Council is alerting residents to the calls, saying this caller is not a member of staff and please be wary about sharing any information over the phone.
Council said it will never ask residents to share personal financial information over the phone.
